Building a quality, confident rider is our goal at Big Dog Stables. Safety is our primary goal. Students are taught various aspects of horsemanship at the beginning /end of each lesson. Students eventually halter, brush, and tack up their own horse for lessons. Our beginner riders develop an independent seat and quiet hands quickly with lunging and games. As riders progress to jumping, we maintain our focus on good positioning. We have full courses and grids designed to suit all levels of hunter/jumper riders. Depending on age and length of time riding, our lessons are one half hour or an hour. We offer private lessons and group lessons (2-4 students total) every day of the week except Tuesdays. We have quality school horses and lease horses available for lessons. The cost of an hour group lesson or half hour private lesson is $35 and an hour private lesson is $50. The cost for usage of a school horse is $5. For those new to the sport, we offer helmets, boots and leggings to use at each lesson. We accept students from the beginner level to advanced, whether your goals are just the love of being around horses or wanting to compete.
